Welcome to the Cabane du Demècre

The Hut

The hut is open and wardened from 20 June to 25 October 2026. Outside of this period, it remains accessible as an unwardened refuge for hikers. However, overnight stays can be booked year-round via our online form.

During your visit, take a moment to discover the exhibition “Atmosphère des Ô” by Jean-Paul Persali (alias Jeepix), on display in the hut until the end of the season.

The hut is managed and wardened on a voluntary basis by the Les Trotteurs de Fully club.

Situated at the Demècre Pass at an altitude of 2,361m, the hut overlooks Lake Sorniot in the municipality of Fully (Switzerland). It sits on the extension of the western ridge of the Dent de Morcles, offering an exceptional panorama in the heart of the Alps.

Practical Info

Opening Hours

The hut is open all year round and is continuously wardened from late June to mid-October. We regularly host Swiss-German trainees, but we do not hire seasonal staff: the team consists exclusively of volunteers.

Regardless of when you wish to hike up for an overnight stay, please book in advance.

Food & Meals

During the wardened period, we offer a full-board package including:
welcome tea, evening meal (simple but prepared with love), overnight stay, and breakfast.

The kitchen is participatory: you may be invited to lend a hand with meal preparation or washing up, always in a good mood alongside our volunteer wardens.

During the day, we offer light refreshments:
platters, soups, and cakes of the day (subject to availability), accompanied by a fine local wine.

For your ongoing hike, you can also order a packed lunch prepared by the wardens.

Sleeping

The hut has 27 places, spread across two dormitories equipped with mattresses and duvets.
Please bring a liner (sheet sleeping bag).
If you do not have one, disposable liners are available on-site for CHF 10.–.

  • Energy:
    • electricity produced by solar panels
